Terms of Use

The family tree at videetnimsarkar.com/family is a private, invite-only record kept by one family. It is free, has no commercial purpose, and is offered as-is.

Accounts

Only email addresses that have been invited can create an account. Your account is yours alone — please don't share it, since the tree shows different things to different people and a shared login defeats that.

What you add

A family tree is inherently about other people. When you add someone, you are recording information about a living relative who may not have been asked. Please only add what you would be comfortable telling them you had written down, and correct anything a relative asks you to correct.

Health information about anyone other than yourself should not be entered without their agreement. The application asks for consent before storing any of it.

What this is not

It is not a medical record and must not be relied on in an emergency or for any clinical decision. Information is entered by family members from memory and may be wrong, outdated or incomplete.

It is not a legal record of descent, and is not suitable as evidence of relationship, inheritance or citizenship.

Availability

This is a personal project running on free-tier hosting. It may be slow, unavailable, or discontinued. Export your data if it matters to you — the option is in the chart's Export menu.

Removal

Ask, and your account and personal information will be removed. Entries about relatives who have died are part of the family record and are kept unless there is good reason not to.
